Rainy days where you have nothing to do can be boring beyond belief. Pillow forts are fun and don't involve going outside or staring at a screen all day (although you could do these things too). so naturally, pillow forts and rainy (or sunny) days make a perfect match.
Before you start, find a good place for a pillow fort. The floor or a bathtub is ok, but incredibly uncomfortable. A bed is much more comfortable, but it may be hard to keep your fort up near the middle. A nice place to build a fort would be on the couch. The back of the couch can hold up a fort well, and the couch itself is comfortable.
Once you have picked your location, you need to pick some blankets (for the roof). A good fort blanket for a fort roof is large in size and isn't heavy. Once you have your blanket and drape it over your couch, bed, or bathtub, you may find the roof is too low. An easy fix to this is taking a tent pole or yardstick and use it to prop the middle of the tent.
You can leave your fort at that, or, you can expand it, You could get more blankets and cover the rest of the couch/bed/bathtub. You could set up a tent and connect it to your fort. You could boobytrap it. The possibilities are endless.
In your fort, you can watch a movie on a tablet or other device, read a book, or just talk with friends. Just don't forget to clean it up afterward!
Thank you for reading, and see you soon!
